Uganda’s business magnate Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia will headline the much-anticipated UK-Africa Business Summit set for September 12, 2025, in London, with a focus on strengthening trade and investment ties between the United Kingdom and countries in East and Southern Africa.

The summit, hosted at the prestigious Royal Horseguards Hotel and One Whitehall Place, will bring together influential policymakers, investors, and private sector leaders to discuss economic opportunities, regional partnerships, and innovation across the African continent.

Dr. Sudhir, Chairman of the Ruparelia Group of Companies, is expected to deliver a keynote address centered on private sector-driven development, diaspora investment, and unlocking Africa’s potential through public-private collaboration. His vast experience in real estate, banking, education, and hospitality across the region makes him one of the most prominent figures at the forum.

The summit will also feature remarks from Prof. Luis Franceschi, the Assistant Secretary General of the Commonwealth, who will provide insight into how Commonwealth frameworks can facilitate equitable trade and governance partnerships.

Among the high-profile Ugandan officials confirmed for the summit are:

General David Muhoozi, Minister of State for Internal Affairs

Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, Deputy Speaker of Uganda’s Parliament

Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa, Minister of Energy and Mineral Development

Hon. Evelyn Anite, State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization

Lt. Gen. Joseph Musanyufu, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Internal Affairs

Hon. Francis Mwebesa, Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives

Hon. Musa Ecweru, Minister of State for Works and Transport

The event is being supported by several organizations including the Ruparelia Group, EW Properties, World Book of Records (London), NIRA, and the Ugandan UK Convention.

With discussions spanning infrastructure, renewable energy, finance, mining, and regional logistics, the summit is expected to generate strategic business deals and open new investment channels between Africa and Europe.
