A renowned city businessman identified as Henry Katanga has been shot dead following an alleged heated quarrel with his wife Molly Katanga at their residence in Mbuya, an upscale Kampala suburb on Thursday morning.
The incident has left the community in shock, prompting Police to investigate the matter to ascertain the truth.
Information which this website couldn’t independently verify indicates that Mr Katanga and his wife were involved in a domestic fight that took a deadly turn.
The dispute escalated to a point where a firearm was allegedly used.
What remains unknown is whether Mrs Katanga knows how to use gun (pistol) by discharging a bullet which ended her husband’s life.
No government official or relative of the deceased was willing to speak about the matter considering the family is prominent and well known to high-ranking government officials.
Police spokesperson Fred Enanga did not pick our repeated calls.
What this website has established is, senior government officials both in security and administration have pitched camp at Katanga’s residence in a bid to establish the truth.
“Molly remains in shock and she is not well. She has not spoken to anyone,” says a source.
The source added that there have been over 20 versions of the incident and it remains unclear what exactly could have happened that resulted into the businessman’s death.
Both the husband and wife run a procurement and supplies firm.
Police is actively investigating and is yet to issue a report detailing the cause of death and who caused it.
A source said relatives particularly on Molly’s side have rejected the allegations that she is behind the shooting maintaining that she has no knowledge of gun use.
