POLICE STATEMENT
Police in Old Kampala are investigating a case of murder by shooting that happened at Kisingiri zone, Bukesa parish in Rubaga Division.
It’s alleged that today 13/06/2023 at 0300hrs around kisingiri zone Bukesa parish in Rubaga Division Kampala, one Laban Mohammed, Yassan Mohammed and their sisters while in the house sleeping, unknown thug armed with a pistol entered their house from the behind door, went straight into their bed room and found them asleep.
The thug started robbing them, fortunately Laban Mohammed and Yassan Mohammed woke up and tried to ask the robber who he was , they went ahead and tried to attack the robber, unfortunately he shot at them two bullets, leaving both of them seriously injured.
Laban Mohammed was shot on the head from the left hand side, and Yassan Mohammed was shot on the left shoulder, immediately the robber ran away leaving Laban Mohammed unconscious.
The sisters got a vehicle and rushed both of them to Mengo hospital for treatment, unfortunately by the time they reached the hospital Laban Mohammed had already died.
Police was notified and responded.
A case file of murder and attempted murder was registered.
The crime scene was visited by a team of officers and canine unit
Canine was introduced to the scene , tracked but with little efforts as the scene was already contaminated.
Police findings is that about six people all Somalis stay and sleep in this house,
Two empty catridge casings recovered from the crime scene.
The body of Laban Muhammed was examined from A-plus premises, and found with two suspected bullet wounds, on the left hand side of the head and around the waist on the right hand side, later on the body was sent to Mulago city mortuary for postmortem.
