General Muhoozi Kainerugaba will make what he termed as “an important announcement” in a few weeks to come.
His revelation follows a number of tweets he made over the weekend expressing a vote of no confidence in NRM, a party founded by his father and which has been in power for close to 40 years.
To Muhoozi, the ruling establishment irrespective of the years it has been in power, is most reactionary organization in the country.
Muhoozi also warned some individuals in the NRM against undermining him.
“Those people signing declarations against us in the NRM. We will teach you what Uganda means. This country belongs to Almighty God and the people of Uganda. Let us see who is stronger you or us?” Muhoozi further said.
His opinion about the ruling party has since aroused debate and emotions with the NRM historicals who fought the liberation war along with his father Gen Yoweri Museveni perceiving it as an attack.
Muhoozi’s supporters have since come out to defend his utterances maintaining that NRM party is full of selfish, egocentric and corrupt leaders who are totally detached from the realities on ground.
They say a group of elderly leaders in the party that rushed to initiate Museveni’s endorsement for 2026, is threatened by the popularity of the generational leader.
“The NRM which is full of blackmail, Intrigue, Malice and egocentric persons is not one that our generation can tolerate. A party which underates hardwork and promotes mediocrity isn’t one we desire to have. Very soon we shall unveil our Plan,” MP Daudi Kabanda tweeted.

Muhoozi said the announcement will be made through other channels not Twitter.
“In a few weeks, I will make an important announcement. Not on Twitter but by other means. I will make it in my personal capacity and as the leader of our generation,” Muhoozi tweeted on Monday.
President Museveni who is the chairman of NRM and also Commander in Chief of the army remains tight-lipped about Muhoozi’s tirade of outbursts.
So far, a number of outfits have emerged and volunteered to mobilise support for Muhoozi in case he stands for President in 2026.
Team Chairman MK Project, which is led by Muhoozi’s uncle Michael Nuwagira alias Toyota, the group has since April been recruiting masses while traversing across the country.
In his own speech, Muhoozi better known as MK has acknowledged that Team Chairman so far leads the vanguard of MK army in mobilisation.
The groups want Muhoozi on the ballot in the Presidential race.
