Over the weekend, lawyer Paul Wanyoto, an advocate of the High Court and former MP aspirant hosted guests at a thanksgiving service in memory of his departed parents.
The celebrations took place at his residence in Nabweya, Mbale City.
The memorial service kicked off with prayers for Wanyoto’s father Jacob Wanyoto and other departed members of the family.
Wanyoto also had his two sisters Lydia Wanyoto and Harriet Wanyoto present as they prayed for their parents.
Later, the guests including the clergy were treated to sumptuous luncheon and a cocktail.
The road to Nabweya was paralyzed with posh cars of big boys and girls that thronged Wanyoto’s palatial residence.
Renowned faces in the legal fraternity, political arena, media industry, business community were present to grace the occasion.
The people of Mbale were overhead regretting why they had declined to send Wanyoto, a man of potential to parliament when he sought for their votes in the last election.
Others said they had at least made a right choice to appoint him Mbale City land board chairman.
They vowed to compensate him with a juicy elective position come 2026.
