A senior official of the Uganda Media Centre Obed Katureebe was Sunday afternoon picked by operatives from the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) from his house in Kyanja, leaving his family in fear after loss of contact.
Obed remains held incommunicado as his family member search for his whereabouts.
His known phone number couldn’t go through.
His supervisor, the Media Center Executive Director Ofwono Opondo however, said that his employee is not arrested but rather under security protection.
Opondo said some people intended to harm him.
He added that within 5 days, authorities will have apprehended the people that wanted to harm Obed Katureebe.
However, it remains unclear why security has not allowed his family to visit him if he is under state protection.
