The Director of Criminal Investigations Department (CID) AIGP Grace Akullo’s absence from Office for 3 Months remains a huge concern in the police circles.
This website has learned that the chief detective last appeared in her office at the CID headquarters in Kibuli in June, before she sought a health leave.
A top official in the Police Force who asked not to be mentioned said Akullo would later be airlifted to Nairobi, Kenya for a very urgent medical attention.
Akullo was quietly returned to her Kira Residence in Wakiso Municipality after doctors in Kenya “couldn’t do much,” a separate source said.
“A medical diagnosis showed she was suffering from nothing, yet she kept developing complication, couldn’t talk nor move. She has been in total pain,” said a source.
Whereas her illness has been kept as a top secret in police, some senior cops who learned of her health condition tried to reach her through phone calls and whatsapp messages but until today she has never responded.
A relative who wished to remain unnamed said until today the AIGP remains in critical condition at her home.
“She rarely talks. We suspect she has issues with her tongue,” a relative said.
As questions kept emerging at her work place, junior officers were told the boss has been battling Covid-19, but she is steadily improving.
Some officials who spoke to TrumpetNews on condition of anonymity said that whereas they don’t want to speculate about her health, many questions remain unanswered.
“How else can one think? Imagine specialists in Nairobi couldn’t detect the cause of her sickness yet she kept deteriorating,” officials said.
No senior officer in Police was willing to be put on record commenting on the matter.
Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga couldn’t be reached when contacted on phone.
Equally no one was answering AIGP Akullo’s phone calls.
The CID spokesperson Charles Twine told this website that he was not authorized to speak about her boss’ health referring us to the family doctor and a close relative.
“I don’t even think it makes news that someone is sick. But call the family doctor. You can also call Mr Enanga,” Twine said before ending our call.
