Government has come out to issue an explanation on the attendance of Heads of States for the upcoming swearing in fete for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni slated for May 12.
In an earlier communique by the Presidency minister Esther Mbayo, 21 Presidents from different countries across the world had confirmed their attendance.
These are among 42 who received Museveni’s invite.
The leader of National Resistance having won the January election with 58%, will take oath of office and receive instruments of power for his 6 term as President.
The director of Government Citizen Interaction Center (GCIC) Marcella Karekye has used her official Twitter account to pass on the clarification.
She said 10 of the 21 world leaders will send high- power delegation to Kololo Grounds on May 12 while 11 will attend in person.
She added that more confirmation messages are still coming in as Uganda readies for that significant day.
““Clarification on attendance of Heads of States: An invitation was extended to 42 Heads of States and so far: 11 Heads of States are attending in person and about 10 will send high-power delegations. Confirmation messages are still coming in,” Marcella tweeted.
