Judith Tukamuhebwa has for close to a week been media fodder because of her boldness to lay a man of God.
Many Ugandans from all crevices wondered the courage Judith had to remove Archbishop Stanley Ntagali’s mitre (bishops’ hat), his gown, the holy clerical collar, the pectoral cross (a huge necklace) which symbolizes the holiness and position of the bishop, his shoes, stockings and then descend on him in the garden of Eden.
Judith must be having a special place in heaven.
As her pictures made rounds on internet most of her details remained scanty.
Digging deep, we have found out that Judith doesn’t use her surname Tukamuhebwa on social networking sites like Facebook but rather adopted one of those sleek Englishmen’s name- Wycliffe.
Searching for Judith Wycliffe on Facebook, her picture will emerge. In the picture she looks young and innocent. But as an old adage goes “never judge a book by its cover.”
Judith’s sexual scandal with the holy man of God has bubbled the church and subsequently forced the Archbishop Stephen Kazimba to summon a crisis meeting.
The scandal has not only left Ntagali in disrepute but also exposed the conspiracy at the helm of the House of God.
It all started when a letter authored by Kazimba suspending his predecessor Ntagali over adultery leaked to the media.
Many believers have sympathized with Mr Ntagali.
Kazimba’s letter without mentioning names says Ntagali sinned with a married woman. He calls for prayers for both spouses in the relationships.
It later emerged that Judith is married to a married Reverend Christopher Tugumeahabwe, also a Reverend in the Church of Uganda.
However, he marriage with Rev. Tugumeabwe has been on the rocks.
He sought to marry Judith for the second time after he lost his first wife. Tugumeahabwe and Judith wedded at St Peters Cathedral Rugarama, Kabale in 2018.
He teaches Theology at Bishop Barham University College in Kabale.
Two years after, Judith sought Court’s intervention to divorce Tugumeahabwe.
She said the Reverand is cruel and deserted her.
Reports from undisclosed sources indicate the couple has a child (gender undisclosed) who was born at a time when the two had decided to stay in different places. Tukamuhebwa was staying in Mbarara while the husband still resided in Kabale where he works.
The child, according the sources, was not acknowledged by Tukamuhebwa’s husband who questioned its paternity since they were, allegedly, not practicing their conjugal rights anymore.
Apparently, Tukamuhebwa sought help regarding child support from Ntagali, who had been handling the couple’s marital issues, but he was unresponsive. Ntagli’s friends, however, reached out to her with financial support.
The wedding of Judith Tukamuhebwa and Rev. Christopher Tugumeahabwe was held amidst tight security prompting many to query the arrangement.
Speculation crept in that the bride had another man with whom they shared a home before he left for Abu Dhabi.
The said man has been identified as Isaac Akamutuha whose family claim he entrusted “their home” to Judith before he left the country.
Meanwhile, Ntagali is no longer permitted to function sacramentally, preach, or represent the Church of Uganda in any way since admitting that he had been unfaithful to his wife, as declared by the reigning Archbishop Stephen Kazimba Mugalu.
Ntagali has been married to Beatrice since 1978, and they have four sons and one daughter.
