Maj Gen. Matayo Kyaligonza has appeared in public alive, healthy and in good shape contrary to media reports that he had succumbed to COVID-19 at Kololo Hospital in Kampala.

The retired fierce NRA combatant has Thursday presided over a function in Burundi capital Bujumbura where he bid farewell to a Kenyan Envoy, Amb. Ken Vitisia whose tour of duty has come to an end in the country.

This brings to an end false reports which have made rounds on social media announcing the death of the NRM historical.

The Kenyan Embassy in Bujumbura tweeted a photo of Kyaligonza and his counterpart sharing a light moment.

The farewell was organized by Kyaligonza who is also the dean of all diplomats in Burundi.

“Amb. Ken Vitisia received gift during farewell organized by the Dean of Diplomats in Burundi (Ugandan Ambassador) on 12th November 2020 in Bujumbura,” Kenyan Embassy tweeted.
