Bobi Wine arrives alongside his wife at Kyambogo for nomination on Tuesday.

The leadership of National Unity Platform (NUP) has announced that its presidential candidate Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine will officially unveil his manifesto on Friday at Mbarara Golf Course Hotel.

The party secretary general Lewis Rubongoya alongside other senior leaders addressed the media on Wednesday at their head offices in Kamwokya.

Bobi Wine was slated to launch the manifesto on Tuesday at Kamwokya after his nomination but was arrested by police and taken to his home in Magerere, Wakiso district.

Police said Bobi Wine had planned to violate Electoral Commission guidelines by holding procession and later a rally at Kamwokya.

Several of Bobi Wine’s colleagues were injured in the fracas.

Addressing the press, the NUP officials said they will observe EC regulations and only 70 people will attend the Manifesto launch.

However, they invited their supporters to throng Mbarara Golf Course in huge numbers since its an open space.

They said, they will have speakers and big screens from were the supporters will listen and watch as their president unveils his manifesto.
