Ugandan local construction firm has signed a multibillion deal with the government to construct roads inside neighbouring DRC to ease transportation of goods for both nations.
The plan was authorized by Ugandan cabinet sitting Monday at State House Entebbe.
Uganda agreed to sink in $300- an estimation of 1 trillion shillings, the amount which can be recouped once the road network inside Eastern DRC linking Uganda is accomplished.
The poor road grid has been an impediment to the exportation of local products to DRC and its neighbouring states.
According to reports, the mega project will be undertaken by Dott Services in the coming month.
The roads which Dott Services is slated to work on include; Kasinde-Beni (80kms), Beni-Butembo Axis (54kms) and Bunagana-Rutshuru-Goma (89kms).
Cabinet is optimistic, this infrastructure will improve movement of people, easing trade and also curbing insecurity in Eastern Congo.
