Herbert Kabafunzaki, the ruling NRM legislator representing Rukiga County Kabale has assured his opponents that he has all tribes of currencies to procure votes in the coming election.
The former State Minister for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations was filmed addressing his voters in the constituency in a video that is trending on social media platforms.
Clad in an NRM outfit, Kabafunzaki bragged how he no longer keeps money in Ugandan banks because it is too much.
Addressing the gathering in vernacular (Rukiga) Kabafunzaki said: “I sometimes hear funny statements that I no longer have money. If I don’t have the money then who has it?”
He added: “I don’t keep my money in Uganda. My money is in abroad.”
Kabafunzaki, 44, who was arrested in 2017 for soliciting a bribe from an investor and subsequently fired as Minister told his supporters that he is rich and has carried out business for a long period of time, reason he decided to donate his salary from parliament to his constituents.
Kabafunzaki wonders how much money would his competitors pump into an election to win him.
