The announcement was made by Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago while addressing journalists at City Hall on Thursday morning.

Nyanjura who is also the councilor for Makerere replaces Sarah Kanyike Ssebagala who was fired on Thursday morning.

Kanyike’s sacking followed her nomination for the post of Director gender, community service and production in KCCA, a move which was unpopular amongst opposition politicians in Kampala.

Nyanjura, according to the Mayor will take office with immediate effect.
