Boda bodas in Nansana Town Council have started normal operations of transporting passengers which violates a Presidential Directive.

Whereas President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni allowed the resumption of public transport on June 4, he directed that boda boda cyclists are not allowed to carry any passenger because their contact is close and there is no social distances which transmits the virus faster.

Museveni said the boda bodas must only carry cargo and used for only deliveries.

However, the President’s directive fell on deaf ears of Nansana cyclists who Thursday hit the road to conduct normal business.

Some of the photos taken by a Daily Monitor journalists show several bodas carrying passengers including a police officer.
