Take the case of former Ibanda District Education Officer Deo Ahimbisibwe who this morning survived being hacked to death by a tomato farmer only identified as Tumusiime who suspected the retired senior government official of preying on his wife.
Flamboyant ‘Bidebere’ as he is commonly known used the early morning rains that pounded nearly the whole country to sneak into the home of the tomato farmer who had left early in the morning to make use of the rains to plant his crops in Kyamoshe.
Residents say that the farmer had been tipped about the Education Officer’s uncanny liking for his wife owing to the frequency at which we he would be seen near the farmer’s home. His lack run out this morning when the farmer returned earlier than usual on to find the DEO’s car parked at his house as the randy officer got busy with his wife.
The incensed farmer pounced on former Education Officer swung his sharp Panga and cut his arm and buttocks.
Eye witnesses say, the farmer then stripped the ageing Bidebere before vandalizing his car.
Bidebere jumped into his car and rushed to the Police Station in Kyabugeija and reported how thieves had waylaid him at 7am as he left his home.
We understand he has been admitted to Kagongo Hospital where he nursing wounds.
Police has since arrested the tomato farmer.
Bidebere’s relative who asked not to be named, said the woman he is accused of sleeping with is a teacher who has on several occasions been warned that she will land in hot soup shouldn’t she desist from committing infidelity with this retired civil servant.
Efforts to reach Bidebere for a comment remained futile as he couldn’t pick his known phone number.
