Ugandan journalist Andrew is worried Tanzania could soon turn into an epicenter of Coronavirus in East Africa and even the continent as a whole.

Taking to his twitter, Mwenda said that the situation in Tanzania has become critical to appoint that several people who have succumbed to the deadly pandemic have been buried at night to conceal evidence.

“The situation in Tanzania is getting critical! Reports say hospitals are flooded, people are dying and being buried at night!” said Mwenda who boosts a huge following on social media.

He added that he video possesses evidence but fears to expose his sources since Tanzanian President John Magufuli traces the source of the recordings if he posted them on social media.

“People have sent me videos of this but I cannot share them coz Magufuli traces videos to source! News media banned from telling the story!” Mwenda further claimed.

On Wednesday Tanzania confirmed 480 new cases and 16 deaths.

President Magufuli has been reluctant to implement a lockdown but rather urged the citizens to gather and pray to God to take away the Coronavirus Curse.

But the spiraling cases in Tanzania have a huge impact in the region since cargo drivers traverse the whole of East Africa delivering good to the hinterland.

In Uganda more than 10 truck drivers from Tanzania have since tested positive, they were traced and returned to their country for treatment.

Andrew Mwenda’s claims could spark off frosty diplomatic relations between Uganda and Tanzania.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has in the recent days labored to discuss with his Tanzanian counterpart how to curb the virus in the region, however, their meeting has not borne positive resolutions.
