Mulago Hospital has Sunday discharged 6 patients who were earlier infected with dreaded Coronavirus but have since tested negative.

The Ministry of Health authorized the release of the patients who were receiving treatment at Mulago Referral Hospital.

The total number of Ugandan who have fully recovered from the virus is 28 among the 55 cases confirmed with zero deaths.

The first batch of those discharged were from Entebbe Grade B hospital in a ceremony presided over by the Prime Minister of Uganda.

Uganda registered its first index case on March 20 and this prompted President Yoweri Museveni to order for a lockdown denying foreigner entrants into the country.

Most of the patients were returnees from Dubai and European country with few cases of locals testing positive the virus.

Uganda is under lockdown for 21 more days as a stringent measure to combat this deadly pandemic which continues to ravage the world.

Those that have healed are awarded certificates completion of the treatment and the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda asked communities to accommodate them instead of stigmatizing them as it may result into psychological torture.
