Uganda’s powerful opposition leader Col Kizza Besigye Kifefe celebrated Women’s day by participating in a protest on the streets of New York, USA yesterday.
Besigye called for an end on injustice against women everywhere in the world but most especially his country Uganda where women are marginalised yet they are mothers of the nation.
The demo was organised by Ugandans in the Diaspora.
Besigye is yet to end his tour having visited a number of European countries where he delivered keynote addresses on the progress of his post election struggle to fight President Yoweri Museveni’s grip onto power and the state of political affairs in Uganda.
Besigye met with a number of diplomats, UK ministers and held closed meeting with British legislators. It is believed that the FDC founder interested them in playing a major role in ending Museveni’s 30 year military rule.
He then flew to USA to meet donors and also his family.
