Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has blasted New Vision, a state owned newspaper for heaping praises on neighboring Rwanda after it announced a total lockdown in trying to prevent the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.
Gen. Muhoozi wondered who could be in charge of New Vision who tried to compare Uganda with Rwanda.
The New Vision is headed by Robert Kabushenga, a close associate of the former commander of Special Forces and First Son.
New Vision on Sunday ran a story on its website titled “Rwanda orders shutdown as infections jump across Africa” which was adapted from AFP.
The story highlights Rwanda’s effort to combat the pandemic by locking down all busiest places in Kigali as a strict measure.
The report also quotes Uganda as trying to follow Rwanda’s footsteps after President Yoweri Museveni ordered a partial shutdown in his addresses on Wednesday and Sunday.

Mr. Muhoozi, a Presidential Advisor on special operations blasted the government paper on Twitter:
“But who is in charge of this of New Vision? Is this a government asset or what? How dare they praise another state before our great Ugandan state?” he asked.
He reminded those doubting Uganda that it is the greatest country in Africa.
“Uganda is the greatest country in Africa period!! In all things. Nobody else can compare,” he said.
Uganda confirmed its first case of Coronavirus on Saturday night after a businessman who was returning from Dubai tested positive while Rwanda has registered 17 cases.
