On Friday January 24 teachers, students and parents converged to celebrate the performance of Kampala Parents School (KPS) in the 2019 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) examinations.
KPS which is ranked among the top five schools countrywide has consistently proved itself an academic power-house despite the fact that it admits all types of students, some of whom have had weak foundations.
Speaking at the thanksgiving ceremony held at KPS, Rev Canon Michael Mukhwana, the Vicar at St. Andrews Church, Bukoto said that its so important to celebrate the victory and any milestone we achieve in life but not forgetting that all success come the Lord.
Rev. Canon Muhwana attributed the school’s performance to whom the St. Andrews Church has a partnership with to God’s hand.
“I am so glad that the school could organize this thanksgiving for the children and parents to able to celebrate the victory that God gave them. It is very important that we celebrate our victory,” Rev. Mukhwana.
While leading the mass, he also called up on other school directors to recognise students who excel well as a way of motivating others.
“They balance both the academics and the social life of the child which is a beautiful thing. We also have an opportunity to do ministry here and I count that very special.”
He urged other schools to also give back like KPS did by inviting children and parents to a sumptuous meal and entertainment.
KPS registered 172 First Grades while 54 passed in Second Division.
At least 15 scored 4 aggregates, 16 had five aggregates and 22 candidates got six aggregates.
Rajiv Ruparelia, the school director, attributed the good academic performance to God’s great mercy, dedicated teachers, highly disciplined and God-fearing students and an enabling academic environment.
