Senior Cops Added on Kayihura’s Charge Sheet

The General Court Martial has Monday released Herbert Muhangi, a police officer that headed dreaded Flying Squad unit which was later disbanded by new police leadership.

Muhangi had been charged with failure to protect war materials, aiding and abetting kidnaps of Rwandan refugees in Uganda.

Last year the same court freed him but could only be rearrested by Military Intelligence just outside the premises.

Media reports on Monday suggested that Muhangi had appeared with his lawyer in the chambers of the court’s chairman Lt Gen Andrew Gutti who granted the troubled officer bail.
