These people who are mostly youth were speaking Kinywarwanda, Swahili and English prompting authorities to question their citizenship.

According to police most of them admitted to be Rwandans while others are Congolese and a few Ugandans.

The group which later confirmed to have been attending a transgender conference, was supervised by a lady only identified as Beyonce who attempted to offer police a bribe of shs 10 million to be released.

Ms Beyonce and her team were apprehended following a tip by URA officials who were alarmed by the behaviors of these youth during a lunch break at the beach.

“The lady heading the group was giving Majanji OC 10 million,” our source said.

This prompted URA officers to alert Busia main police station and the OC Patrick Lule swung in action and arrested the whole group.

Speaking on phone to this website on Wednesday morning, Mr. Lule confirmed that he has in custody 33 men and women including their supervisor Ms Beyonce.

Asked the charges opened against them, Lule said the case will be illegal assembly until the state prosecutor advises otherwise.
