Uganda’s security apparatus has bust a church cell in Kibuye, a Kampala suburb and apprehended 40 Rwandans suspected to be members of Rwanda National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS).

According to SoftPower, an online news site, the operation was conducted by Military Intelligence and Uganda Police on Tuesday on a Pentecostal Church identified as ADPR.

SoftPower reports that this group was planning subversion as well spying on Uganda government.

“Authorities in Rwanda have been sending pastors to operate in Uganda who are in the actual sense intelligence officers,” reports SoftPower.

When security intensified intelligence the group reportedly went under ground.

These Rwandans have since been detained as security carries out more investigations. If charged and convicted by Court, they could face 30 years in jail.
