Mutebile: Don’t Rely on Mwenda’s Magazine; Lacks Serious Journalism

Central Bank Governor Muteebile

The Governor of Bank of Uganda prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile is no doubt the highest paid civil servant in the land bagging shs. 80 million per month.

However, the 30 million increment has since ignited debate among Bank of Uganda (BoU) officials who think the professor doesn’t deserve such a salary considering that he does less work due to his health conditions.

Mutebile has previously been earning 50 million inclusive of taxes.
Mutebile loses 40% from his salary as tax  meaning from new salary (80m) the Governor will be bagging shs 56m as take home.

In some instances, some lucky ones have had their salaries proportionately enhanced to match what the very frail Governor earns.

Some say BoU employees have no reason to envy categories like MPs who are construed to earn a lot since they set their own emoluments.
