Rwandan Army Commander, Gen. Patrick Nyamvumba has cautioned residents who live along the border to desist from seeking health services in Uganda

He said the medical services will be extended to their areas of residences.

The fiery army chief issued his warning while traversing the district of Burera near Kisoro in South Western Uganda.

And since Monday, the military, using its specialists, has been seen around Burera providing specialized medical treatments to the locals.

The program is part of Rwanda army’s Community Outreach Program aimed at calming Rwandan citizens from crossing into Uganda for medical services.

“I am aware that you have been seeking some services from neighbouring countries, which are going to be provided because you deserve them,” said Gen Nyamvumva, told Burera residents.

He added: “All the services you have received [this week] are done in the interest of the people, because the torture people face is of concern to us.

“[This outreach program] is meant to ensure your welfare since good health is what gives you the energy to engage in productive activities.”
