Inspector General of Police (IGP) Martin Okoth Ochola has denied access junior police officer who most of the time want to confide in him useful information for the good of the institution.
But instead, Ochola refers these disgruntled officers to his Personal Assistant who sometimes never attends to them.
A junior officer working with Professional Standards Unit, (PSU) who asked not to mention his name fearing arrest told this website that for a couple of months he has failed to reach out to the IGP.
“We don’t know where he is. When you attempt to look for him, he sends you to his PA. and the PA can’t help us,” the officer said.
“May be there is something that angered him which he never wants to tell us,” wondered the officer.
This disgruntled cop revealed that unlike Ochola’s, Kayihura at least was accessible mostly when he learnt that an officer wanted to share very important information.
“it is only the Deputy, Mzee Sabiiti who tries to reach out to us and also listen to our issues.”
This officer questioned why Mr. Ochola has not personally commented on the controversial death of Ronald Ssebulime who was executed by Nagalama police officer.
Efforts to get a comment from police chief Ochola were unsuccessful as his known phone number couldn’t go through.
The Spokesman CP Fred Enanga on officer the IGP said, “you follow the structure of command and control in line with your placement.”
