Maj Gen (rtd) Matayo Kyaligonza has been sacked as Uganda’s representative to Burundi.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni made the decision days after parliament called for Kyaligonza’s removal from office following an incident in which the NRM historical assaulted a female traffic officer.
Kyaligonza has been replaced with Edgar Tabaro, a senior lawyer in Kampala.
“Tabaro was the perfect choice because of his history with Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza,” a source from State House told this website on April 1 (fools day).
