“The ghetto president is the only man I would want to sing with in Uganda,” she narrated exclusively to this website at Serena Hotel where he resided during her stay in the country with her husband Alfredo Friojo, an Italian businessman and owner of of 5-star hotel and club Du Lac Tanganyika in Bujumbura.
“I don’t want to sing with Bobi Wine because he is into politics, no. I love his style,” she added.
Natacha, scooped the award organized by Hipipo Awards, an event that took place last Saturday at Serena Conference Center.
Already, the songbird has a collabo- Mungu- with Uganda’s top female musician Sheebah Karungi.
Whereas she could be little known in Uganda, Natacha has done many music projects across Africa and lately teamed up with DRC’s Fally Ipupa in ‘Duga’ song.
Natacha, 30, a mother of two began her music career formally in 2005 after recording her single ‘Mawe Mwiza’.
“The song is about a good mother. A mum is the best thing ever happened to any person. You can go up or go down but your mother can never abandon you,” she explains.
She picks her inspiration from her sisters who sang on the church choir back home.
“Whatever I do I dedicate it to them. They opened my door when they took me to church,” Natacha says.
She would later quit church and trained as a dancer while she mimed songs of African legends.
During her career as a singer, Natacha has not only left music on stage but further used her talent to woo youth into working hard to determine their destiny in Burundi.
Against that backdrop, she was honoured by President Pierrre Nkurunziza on July first 2017 for being an idol of the young people in his country.
In a bid to transform Burundi’s music industry which is seemingly still developing, Natacha says she has teamed up with Uganda’s recognized producers Sasha Vybz and Nesim to help her release quality content.
