Katwe Police have launched investigations into the brutal murder of Namuwaya Wilfred, popularly known as “Top Dancer”, who succumbed to injuries on September 22, 2025, at Mulago Hospital after a violent assault allegedly linked to the Fangone Forest gang.
Preliminary findings indicate that on September 20, 2025, Namuwaya was lured from his Ndeeba residence by an individual identified as Musomali, said to be connected to Fangone Forest. He was reportedly taken to the forest, where Mulwana Patrick alias Alien Skin, the leader of the group, is alleged to have ordered his team to “discipline” Namuwaya for abandoning the group without permission.
Namuwaya was mercilessly beaten by gang members before being dumped in Mpomba Zone, Makindye Division. Good Samaritans rushed him to Mulago National Referral Hospital, where doctors battled to save his life, but he was pronounced dead two days later.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango confirmed the incident, naming the key suspects under pursuit as Alien Skin, Commander Mdogo, Ibra Kabadiya, and Mijagulo.
“The group is wanted in connection with the murder of Namuwaya Wilfred, also known as Top Dancer. We appeal to the public to share any information on their whereabouts,” Onyango said.
Reports suggest this is not the first time Fangone Forest associates have assaulted individuals, particularly former members who left the gang. Several victims are said to have suffered attacks in recent weeks but declined to report out of fear of retaliation.
Police have assured the public that efforts are underway to dismantle the gang and bring all perpetrators to justice.
