Rwandan Gospel singer Gogo dies in Uganda after Sudden illness

Rwandan gospel singer popularly known as Gogo is dead

Gloriose Musabyimana, popularly known as Gogo, a renowned Rwandan gospel singer and social media personality, has passed away in Uganda. She died on the night of September 3, 2025, after a sudden illness, according to a medical report from Kyegera Doctors Center.

Her passing was confirmed by Bikem Uwayesu, one of her close associates who had been accompanying her during her stay in Uganda. Uwayesu revealed that Gogo, together with a team, left Rwanda on August 28, 2025, to attend a gospel event scheduled for August 29–31 in Mbarara, western Uganda.

After thrilling her audience at the Mbarara event, Gogo and her group proceeded to Kampala on August 31, where she was scheduled to meet with a corporate company for promotional engagements.

However, shortly after arriving in Kampala, Gogo began feeling unwell. Friends initially assumed it was a minor flare-up of an illness she had previously battled, but her condition quickly deteriorated. She was eventually rushed to Kyegera Doctors Center, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The news has left her fans and fellow gospel artists in shock. Many have taken to social media to mourn the talented singer, describing her as a beacon of inspiration whose voice uplifted many in times of struggle.

Gogo was celebrated for her powerful worship songs and her presence on social media, where she shared messages of hope and faith. She leaves behind a legacy of music and ministry that touched lives across Rwanda and Uganda.

Funeral arrangements will be communicated by her family in due course.
