Renowned musician Douglas Mayanja, popularly known as Weasel, is currently hospitalized following an alleged hit-and-run incident involving his longtime partner, Sandra Teta.
The dramatic altercation reportedly took place shortly after midnight at Shan’s Bar in Munyonyo.
According to a police statement released by ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, Sandra Teta was arrested and is being held at Kabalagala Police Station on allegations of unlawful wounding.
Police allege that Teta intentionally rammed a motor vehicle, registration number UBH 148Y, into Weasel following a heated dispute between the two.
The vehicle involved in the incident has since been impounded and is currently parked at the Kabalagala Police Station as investigations continue.
Weasel, a prominent member of the Goodlyfe Crew and younger brother to music legend Joseph Mayanja (Jose Chameleone), was initially rushed to Mukwaya Hospital before being transferred to Nsambya Hospital for further medical attention.
His current condition has not been officially disclosed, though Police confirmed he is still receiving treatment.
The incident has reignited public concern over the volatile nature of Weasel and Teta’s relationship, which has previously attracted media attention due to allegations of domestic violence.
While past controversies often painted Weasel as the aggressor, this time the tables appear to have turned, sparking debate on social media and within entertainment circles.
Police say investigations into the matter are ongoing and further details will be shared in due course.
Sandra Teta, a Rwandan national and socialite, has yet to issue a statement, and her legal team has not commented on the arrest.
The case is being handled by officers at Kabalagala Police Division.
