In a highly anticipated purge following President Museveni’s directive to clean house at the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), 82 workers were officially sacked on last Thursday.
However, internal sources reveal that those dismissed were largely low-ranking employees below the level of principal from departments like plumbing, fire mechanics, and cleaning raising serious questions about whether the real rot is being addressed.
The axe, it appears, has fallen on the powerless, while senior managers many allegedly holding questionable qualifications have been spared.
