Jacque Aguram joins Race for Vice Chairperson NRM Entrepreneurs League

Jackie is a member of Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU)

As Uganda heads toward the 2026 elections, the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) is witnessing a wave of fresh, determined, and capable leaders stepping up to redefine political engagement and economic transformation. Among them is Jacque Aguram Namuyonga, a seasoned lawyer, entrepreneur, and political mobilizer, who has declared her bid for Vice Chairperson of the NRM Entrepreneurs League in Eastern Uganda.

Jacque’s story is one of resilience, intellect, and service. Born and raised in Eastern Uganda, she laid a strong educational foundation that reflects her determination to make a lasting impact. She attained her Uganda Certificate of Education from Kamonkoli College in Budaka and later pursued her A-Level at Naalya Secondary School in Namugongo. Her academic journey continued at Nkumba University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomatic Studies, equipping her with a broad understanding of governance, diplomacy, and global economic systems.

Not one to stop there, Jacque followed her calling in the legal field by pursuing a Bachelor of Laws from Kampala International University. She later completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre (LDC) in Kampala, officially joining the ranks of Uganda’s legal professionals. Today, she is a practicing lawyer in the private sector, with a special focus on business law and enterprise support.

Her legal expertise is backed by a firm grasp of the challenges entrepreneurs face, especially in Eastern Uganda. She has offered legal support to small businesses, women cooperatives, and startup owners, guiding them through complex legal frameworks and regulatory systems. Her work is driven by a desire to create an enabling business environment that supports innovation, protects investments, and opens up opportunities for youth and women.

Jacque is not new to political mobilization. She previously served as General Secretary of Team Chairman, the influential mobilization arm aligned with General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s MK Movement, now the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU). Her service under Michael Nuwagira (popularly known as Toyota), the movement’s national chairman, made her a trusted mobilizer and speaker in national engagements, where she championed youth empowerment, patriotism, and economic transformation.

It is this solid foundation in law, business, and grassroots politics that Jacque now brings to her next chapter — contesting for Vice Chairperson of the NRM Entrepreneurs League in Eastern Uganda. With a campaign theme of “Striving for a more profitable business environment,” she seeks to amplify the voices of business owners, ensure fairer access to capital, and advocate for reforms that reduce the cost of doing business across the region.

Jacque’s campaign is not based on rhetoric but grounded in practical goals. She intends to lobby for favorable tax policies, provide legal and financial literacy training for entrepreneurs, and promote regional trade opportunities within the Eastern corridor. She has also expressed a strong desire to work closely with NRM structures to ensure that the entrepreneurial agenda aligns with national development goals, especially under Uganda’s Vision 2040.

Outside the courtroom and political arena, Jacque is a strong supporter of community development through sports and youth initiatives. She has sponsored and participated in several regional tournaments, including the Semanda Cup, as a way of using sports to foster discipline, unity, and social growth.

Her candidacy brings a fresh, professional, and action-oriented approach to the NRM Entrepreneurs League — one that promises not only to uplift the business community but also to position Eastern Uganda as a model for enterprise-driven development.

In Jacque Aguram Namuyonga, the NRM has found a new voice — a woman of law, vision, and courage, ready to lead the entrepreneurial transformation of her region.
