Bebe Cool ushers in New era for Ugandan music with Bold Album “Break The Chains”

Bebe Cool released new album

Ugandan music icon and philanthropist Moses Ssali, widely known as Bebe Cool, has unveiled his groundbreaking new album titled Break The Chains, signaling a fresh direction for both his career and the sound of African music.

The album was launched in grand style at the upscale Noni Vie Lounge, where Uganda’s entertainment elite, music industry heavyweights, and celebrity guests gathered for an exclusive listening party.

The glamorous event was co-hosted by renowned Nigerian media personality Adesope Olajide aka Shopsydoo / Energy Gawd, alongside NBS TV’s Viana Indi. Celebrated DJ Slick Stuart masterfully guided the night’s soundscape, setting the perfect tone for the highly anticipated album.

In an intimate fireside-style conversation, Adesope and Bebe Cool took attendees through the creative process and message behind each track. At the stroke of midnight, fireworks lit the Kampala skyline, symbolizing the official arrival of Break The Chains.

Available now on all major streaming platforms — including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal — Break The Chains fuses Afrobeats, Afrotech, and Afro House, reflecting a bold Afrocentric evolution of Bebe Cool’s sound. The 16-track project is rich with intricate production, emotional resonance, and his iconic hoarse vocals that have defined his legacy.

“This album marks the beginning of a new chapter for African music and a redefinition of Ugandan music on the global stage,” said Bebe Cool. “I’m focused on growing our numbers on streaming platforms — not relying solely on concerts or outdated distribution models.”

A highlight of the evening was the surprise appearance of Ugandan breakout star Joshua Baraka, who features on the track Cheque. The two took the stage together as the song debuted to roaring applause. “It’s a dream come true to work with someone I grew up watching,” Baraka said. “Thank you, Bebe, for this incredible opportunity.”

The album also features a powerful collaboration with Nigerian star Yemi Alade, further elevating its cross-continental appeal.

Music royalty including Juliana Kanyomozi, Azawi, Cindy, A Pass, and Swangz Avenue’s Benon Mugumbya praised the album’s artistry. “This is one of those albums you sit with privately and absorb,” said Azawi. “You’ve set a new standard for all of us.”

Break The Chains is now streaming on all major digital platforms, ushering in what many are already calling Bebe Cool’s most visionary and globally-minded project to date.
