Celebrated Ugandan singer Bebe Cool is gearing up to release his long-awaited album Break the Chains on Friday, May 30, and anticipation is reaching fever pitch across the country and beyond. The project, already sparking debate over its daring sonic shift, has gained attention for hit singles Circumference and Motivation, both of which have dominated conversations since their release in December 2024.
Now, award-winning vocalist Juliana Kanyomozi has added her voice to the excitement after attending a private listening session hosted by Bebe Cool himself. In a video shared Monday, Juliana reflected on the experience, praising Bebe Cool’s evolution as an artist and the quality of the album.
“What has excited me about this sound and Bebe Cool is his ability to sound different. He’s so versatile – it’s something I admire,” Juliana said, noting that being invited to the exclusive session was an honor given their shared legacy in Uganda’s music industry.
The two are among the very few Ugandan artists who have remained influential for over 25 years, continuing to set trends and inspire the next generation. Juliana revealed that she had been aware of other artists getting early previews of the album and was glad when her turn came.
“When you hear this album, it is a different Bebe Cool. You hear growth. He’s someone who wants to inspire even his fellow artists. This is the first time we are hearing a Ugandan album sounding this good – sounding really international.”
Among the tracks she heard, Juliana singled out Home as her personal favorite. The song, built around lush strings by acclaimed guitarist and composer Myko Ouma, reportedly blends a pop vibe with dynamic rhythms. According to insiders, Home evokes the energy of Bebe Cool’s earlier hit Love You Everyday.
Produced by top-tier names like Philkeys, Break the Chains marks a new chapter for Bebe Cool – one that dares to push boundaries. Circumference, the lead single, has stirred conversation across Africa since its December 13 release, showcasing the artist’s departure from his familiar dancehall and reggae sound.
When it drops on Spotify, Tidal, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Boomplay, and other platforms, Break the Chains will no doubt become a landmark project – both for Bebe Cool and Ugandan music as
