The 11th session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD) is set to take place from April 6th to 11th, 2025, at the Speke Convention Centre in Munyonyo.
The highly anticipated event will bring together key stakeholders from across Africa and beyond to discuss sustainable economic growth, job creation, and science-driven solutions aligned with Agenda 2030 and Agenda 2063.
The forum will be graced by His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of Uganda, as the Chief Guest.
It is organized under the joint collaboration of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the United Nations Uganda, and the Office of the Prime Minister of Uganda.
The event will attract government representatives, policymakers, international organizations, and private sector players committed to Africa’s sustainable development agenda.
Driving Economic Growth Through Science and Sustainability
The theme of ARFSD 2025 is “Driving Job Creation and Economic Growth Through Sustainable, Inclusive, Science and Evidence-based Solutions for the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063.” The discussions will focus on key areas such as industrial innovation, climate resilience, digital transformation, and social inclusion, emphasizing how scientific advancements can propel economic sustainability.
Speke Convention Center
As one of Uganda’s premier conference facilities, Speke Resort is well equipped to host an event of such magnitude. The venue boasts state-of-the-art conference halls, high-end accommodation, and a scenic lakeside environment conducive to high-level discussions.
The Convention Centre at the resort has previously hosted global summits, NAM, G77 and AU.

The Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development serves as a preparatory platform for African countries ahead of the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development. The outcomes of this forum will shape Africa’s contributions to global development discussions, ensuring that the continent’s unique challenges and opportunities are well-represented on the world stage.
