APOLOGY TO MR. ALEX LUTAAYA MUKOMAZI

Accused: Alex Mukomazi

Trumpet News wishes to apologize to businessman Mr. Alex Lutaaya Mukomazi who we variously
misrepresented and defamed in our news story published on the above referenced date.

It was under the headline: “Investigations: Inside the Dark World of Alex Mukomazi: How former UNRA
Boss Profited from Manipulating Government systems.”

Having verified and established more accurate facts, we hereby state that:

(a) Mr. Mukomazi isn’t a fraudulent contractor as was depicted in our reporting.

(b) Mr. Mukomazi never connived with John Mbidde, the UNRA store manager, to defraud the
Government of Uganda of Ugx11.8bn as was falsely reported in our story.

We equally retract what we
reported about Lunas Enterprises Ltd regarding the supply of guardrails, the bribe of Ugx600m and the
circumstances surrounding the setting up of M/S Veronica Transport Services Ltd.

(c) Mr. Mukomazi had nothing to do with the death of ICT officer Godfrey Kabunga through the
17/2/2021 road accident involving a trailer, as was insinuated in our story.

(d) Mr. Mukomazi isn’t the fraudulent taxpayer we depicted in our news story that was published on the TrumpetNews website on 14/1/2025.

(e) We equally retract, regret and apologize over what we reported about Duke Light Investments Ltd, Lunas Enterprises Ltd & Havans International Contractors Ltd-and also about Mr. Mukomazi’s spouse.

(f) We also undertake to pull down all the false, defamatory & offensive content we published on our
news platform character-assasinating and portraying Mr. Mukomazi to be a thief and the fraudulent
person, which he isn’t.

(g) And FINALLY, we promise to refrain from similar conduct in future. And in fulfillment of the terms of
the consent agreement that has been reached between parties, we undertake to permanently keep this retraction and apology on our website.
