The Uganda Police Force has made significant changes to its leadership structure, following a directive from the Inspector General of Police (IGP). In a press release dated January 8, 2025, the IGP announced several high-profile transfers and appointments aimed at strengthening the force’s operational efficiency and effectiveness in key areas.
The changes involve seasoned officers taking up new roles both locally and internationally. Among the most notable appointments is AIGP Musana Geoffrey, who has been transferred from the Directorate of Welfare, Production, and Sports to the Ugandan Embassy in South Sudan, where he will serve as Police Attaché.
In a similar vein, SCP Sakira Moses has returned from his role at the Ugandan Embassy in South Sudan and been appointed Deputy Director in the Directorate of Research and Planning. Meanwhile, SCP Halango Timothy has moved from the Directorate of Research and Planning to the Directorate of Welfare, Production, and Sports, where he will serve as Deputy Director.
Further changes include CP Mubangizi Ben, who has been reassigned from the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety to the Ugandan Embassy in Algeria as Police Attaché. CP Ssebambulidde Charles has transitioned from Agriculture Police to the Directorate of Logistics and Engineering, where he will take on the role of Acting Deputy Director of Classified Stores.
CP Acaye Philip has been reassigned from the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety to Agriculture Police, where he will now serve as Commandant. Additionally, ACP Musinga Norman has moved from his position as RPC Busoga East to the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, where he will serve as Acting Deputy Director.
These appointments are indicative of the Uganda Police Force’s continued efforts to enhance strategic leadership and operational effectiveness in both local and international contexts. By placing experienced officers in critical roles, the IGP aims to address emerging security challenges and improve service delivery.
The Uganda Police Force congratulated all the officers on their new roles and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute to the force’s mission of maintaining law and order. “We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the appointed officers and wish them success in their new roles,” the press release stated.
