Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort has been awarded a coveted five-star rating by the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), cementing its status as one of the country’s premier hospitality destinations.
The accolade follows a nationwide Grading and Classification exercise conducted by the UTB from June to August 2024, aimed at recognizing and awarding star ratings to accommodation facilities that comply with the Uganda Tourism Regulations (Statutory Instrument No. 82 of 2014).
In an official communication dated December 16, 2024, UTB Chief Executive Officer Lilly Ajarova congratulated Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort for its consistent commitment to quality and excellence in hospitality services.
The letter commended the resort for maintaining high standards that not only enhance guest experiences but also position Uganda as a top-tier tourist destination.
“Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort’s five-star achievement is a testament to their unwavering dedication to quality hospitality,” UTB stated. “Such excellence plays a vital role in promoting Uganda as a preferred destination for both local and international tourists.”
The Grading and Classification exercise, mandated by the Uganda Tourism Act of 2008, evaluates facilities based on a rigorous set of criteria, including service quality, guest experience, infrastructure, and adherence to international hospitality standards.
Located on the shores of Lake Victoria, Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort is renowned for its luxurious accommodations, world-class amenities, and exceptional service.
It has long been a favorite among dignitaries, business travelers, and leisure seekers alike.
