34-year-old Beastly nanny Filmed urinating on 10-month-old Baby arrested

Stella Namawanjje has been arrested

Uganda Police has arrested a woman after a disturbing video went viral on social media, showing her allegedly abusing a 10-month-old infant left in her care.

The video, which has sparked public outrage, reportedly depicts the suspect defecating and urinating on the baby, whose identity has been withheld to protect their privacy.

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Stella Namawanjje, a resident of Binyonyi A cell in Nyendo Mukungwe division, Masaka city, was taken into custody by police on November 1, 2024, at approximately 9:00 PM.

According to the preliminary investigation, the infant’s mother had entrusted the child to Namawanjje, who then allegedly subjected the toddler to this horrific act.

Another individual reportedly accessed the footage and shared it on social media, leading to widespread condemnation and prompting swift police action.

Ugandan police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke condemned the act, calling it “unacceptable and deeply disturbing.” He assured the public that police are committed to ensuring justice for the victim.

“The Uganda Police Force condemns this horrific act in the strongest terms,” Rusoke stated. “We pledge to ensure that the suspect is held accountable for her actions.”

The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities gathering additional evidence and examining the circumstances surrounding the abuse.

Police officials have urged the public to avoid sharing the explicit content further, citing the trauma it may cause to viewers and respect for the child’s privacy.

The arrest has highlighted the need for stringent measures to protect children from abuse, particularly when left in the care of others.

Community members and child protection advocates have also expressed concern over the incident, urging for greater awareness and reporting of such acts.

This case serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of vigilance in child welfare, with authorities warning of legal consequences for those involved in similar acts of abuse.
