Renowned businessman Obadia Rushambuza has passed away today in Nairobi, Kenya. Rushambuza, husband to Sheema North Woman MP Naome Kibaju, succumbed to a stroke that first struck him on Monday.
Following the stroke, he was initially taken to Mulago Hospital in Kampala, where he received emergency treatment.
He was later airlifted to Nairobi Hospital for advanced care. Unfortunately, he passed away this afternoon.
The deceased, an elder brother of Apollo Rushambuza the owner of Quality Supermarket—was a distinguished figure in Uganda’s business community. He owned various properties in Kololo and other high-end suburbs, amassing a legacy of significant business and real estate investments that contributed to Uganda’s economic landscape.
The news of his passing has cast a shadow over the community, with friends, colleagues, and fellow entrepreneurs mourning the loss of a remarkable businessman known for his sharp business acumen and dedication.
Burial arrangements are underway, with further details to follow. Obadia Rushambuza’s legacy will be remembered for the contributions he made to Uganda’s economy and the many lives he impacted along the way.
