Uganda is gearing up to host the 8th East Africa Venture Capital Association (EAVCA) Annual Private Capital Conference Today Wednesday, 2024, at the Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo.
“As we embark on defining the next era of East Africa’s investment landscape, the region’s private capital sector stands as a testament to resilience and opportunity. Despite global challenges, East Africa has showcased its adaptability and growth, making it an increasingly attractive destination for private capital,” states the conference’s website.
The theme for the 2024 EAVCA Annual Conference, “Adaptation and Advancement: Navigating the Next Wave of East Africa’s Investment Landscape,” aims to explore the dynamic balance between embracing change, fostering collaboration, and reimagining sustainable growth amidst adversity.
The EAVCA Annual Private Capital Conference is the premier in-person gathering for investment professionals and related industries across East Africa and beyond. It provides a unique platform for attendees to connect, network, share ideas, and forge new partnerships with LPs, GPs, established business leaders, and industry experts.
“This year’s conference takes a forward-looking approach, examining the trends shaping East Africa’s private capital industry in the coming years. This includes a growing interest in frontier markets such as Uganda, DRC, Rwanda, and Tanzania. The event will address rapidly changing global, regional, and national macro contexts, which may require either reinforcing successful strategies or learning from and rethinking others. Through thought leadership discussions, the conference will chart the course for the future of private capital investing in East Africa. Besides knowledge sharing and thought leadership, delegates can also expect valuable networking opportunities,” states the conference website.
The event will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including top figures from Uganda’s private capital industry and notable personalities from the region and beyond. From Uganda, speakers include Agnes Aistleitner Isuule, co-founder and Managing Partner of First Circle Capital; Carol Birungi, Country Manager and Director of XSVL Capital; Mrs. Mona Muguma Ssebuliba of aBi Finance; Dr. Edward Isingoma Matsiko from Pearl Capital Partners; Kim Kamarebe of Inua Capital; as well as David Owino and Richard Mugera, both from Ascent Capital.
