Amidst an air of anticipation and high expectations, Kampala Parents School (KPS), a leading primary school in Kampala, has kicked off the new term with a resolute commitment to delivering serious academic work.

The excitement at KPS resonates from its recent triumph as the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) unveiled the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results for the academic year 2023.

The excellent performance of last year’s Primary seven candidates set the stage for celebration at the Naguru-based school.

Daphne Kato, the school’s principal, personally handed over the results to jubilant parents and pupils who gathered at KPS to collect their achievements.

The school maintained its exceptional performance, securing the top position with a multitude of children attaining a first division, scoring aggregates ranging from four to six.

As the school sets out for a new term, the teaching staff at KPS has pledged serious work, aiming to build upon the academic excellence that has become synonymous with the institution.

The renewed commitment comes as UNEB’s gender analysis indicated that 52.25% of the candidates were girls, surpassing boys who accounted for 47.75% across the country.

In a detailed analysis of subject performance over the last two years (2023 and 2022), slight improvements were noted in English, Integrated Science, and Mathematics. However, Social Studies and Religious Education (SST) performance remained comparable to the previous year.

Daphne Kato on Friday, while addressing the pupils extended her congratulations to the pupils transitioning to secondary school, urging them to maintain a strong work ethic, bring recognition to the school, and serve as inspirations to their peers and reiterated the school’s resolution to keep excelling.
