“The phrase “learnt nothing, forgot nothing” is often used to describe a stubborn or inflexible attitude, where someone refuses to change their opinions or behaviors despite new information or experiences.
Suggests that the person is resistant to adapting or growing, holding on steadfastly to their existing or actions.
It can also imply a lack of reflection or self-awareness, as the person fails to acknowledge any mistakes or lessons they should have learned.”
How else would ‘city daredevil lawyer’ doubling as Kampala Land Board Chairman David Balondemu present in court a forged medical letter while seeking bail?
Balondemu is facing fraud charges for allegedly obtaining shs 2.2 billion from an investor.
It’s allegedly that KG Unlimited LLC, an American Company, was defrauded Ugx 2.2Bn in a purported procurement of a water plant by Ministry of Agriculture.
The fraudsters purported that PPDA was conducting the procurement on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture.
All the money was paid through an account of M/s Bloom Advocates. Balondemu is believed to be the proprietor of the law firm through proxies.
He was netted last Friday, charged in Court at Buganda Road and sent to Luzira Prison.
On Wednesday, November 22, Balondemu reappeared before Buganda Road Court Magistrate Winnie Nankya for bail hearing.
However, the Magistrate further remanded him until November 29 after Balondemu’s lawyers presented fake medical document from Kampala Hospital claiming their client was scheduled to undergo a surgery.
But the State prosecutor Ivan Kyazze told Court that the letter was a concoction, compelling the Magistrate to further remand Balondemu and his co- accused until November 29.
“Allow court make findings on the state objections to the bail application and forgery allegations.” “…the allegations (of forgery) are grave in nature and that they might also go back to the state. Ruling will be delivered on November 29,” Nankya said.
The court decision followed a State accusation by Ivan Kyazze who alleged alleging that Balondemu presented forged medical documents from a private city medical facility as justification to be granted bail. According to Kyazze, Balondemu on November 20 –through his lawyers– told Court that he was due for a medical operation on November 22.
The state attorney tendered in court a sworn statement by an investigating officer stating that Balondemu was not a patient at the medical facility. He then asked the Court to address itself on the said forgery accusations before delivering its ruling on bail.
This is the second time in two weeks for Balondemu to be remanded after he was first accused of defrauding a Korean investor of shs 1.2 billion.
