President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is the Commander in Chief (CiC) has promoted a total number of 50 UPDF officers, 5 among whom have been Colonels elevated to Brigadier Generals including, confirming those who have been in acting capacity to now full ranks.
The five elevated to rank of Brigadier General include; John Musoke who has been second in command of 4th division, Patrick Otong , the second in command of First Division, James Muhwezi- Commandant Air Force College Nakasongola, Richard Rubongoya- Air Force Base Commander Gulu and Wycliff Keita – Commandant Uganda Military Academy Kabamba.
Lt Col Jet Turyabe has been promoted to full Colonel and he is holed up in the jungles of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for his stellar performance.
Museveni has also elevated his long service ADC (aide-de-camp) Robert Koch from Lt Col to full Col and is now a brigade commander in Northern Uganda.
