Security Probes election Loser, Daniel Lokong, for Concocting defilement Charges against MP Baatom

IN HOT SOUP; Daniel Lokong

Daniel Lokong, a Politician who lost election for Dodoth West Constituency in Karenga District, Karamoja Region is in hot soup.

Lokong, contested for a political office without duly resigning from a government office as the law requires garnered only 607 votes and was the third in the race which was won by his relative Ben Baatom Koryang with 5498 votes.

Baatom defeated Father Simon Lokodo (Rest in Peace) who got 3686 votes and had been the area MP since 2006 until 2021.

However, Lokong, until to date has not come to terms of the election defeat.

With Father Lokodo dead, Lokong has been plotting for the downfall of the incumbent MP Baatom targeting that when he is out of the picture (in prison) he will automatically take the seat.

Lokong, according to investigation being carried out, clandestinely started spreading harmful propaganda against Baatom in the constituency, tainting his image as a defilement suspect.

Determined to see his opponent out of Parliament, Lokong connived with parents of a teenager the legislator was paying school fees for to allege that he had defiled her.

Lokong further pressed the parents of the teenager to file a police case vide GEF12/2023 at Kabong Police Station.

Information reveals that the detectives managing the case have also been placed under investigation on grounds of collaborating with Lokong to place fictitious charges.

What are the Facts?

Investigations further reveal MP Baatom was paying school fees shs 70000 for a girl whom she got to know from his cousin about 5 years ago.

This is at a time he worked at Karenga District before he nursed political ambitions.

He continued to pay school fees for both the teenager and his cousin (girl) even when he started campaigning.

This girl willingly started working at his farm during holidays in Kabong district. The lawmaker has two homes, in Kaboong and Karenga.

After election, Baatom had never been in touch with the girl until the trumped-up defilement charges surfaced.

Detectives from Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have since gathered that Lokong had been notified by campaign agent that the only way of getting Baatom out of the way was to fabricate the defilement charges.

Witch-hunted; MP Baatom

Surprisingly this girl who remains a minor was recently thrown in prison for 7 days for failing to admit even under duress that the pregnancy belonged to the MP.

She maintains she knows the father of the child and it is not the MP.

Hell bent to see the MP out of Parliament, Lokong sponsored the parents of the girl to Kampala to pursue the fabricated case.

Detectives are slowly but surely gathering evidence which will see Daniel Lokong locked up in prison for defaming and harassing his opponent once investigations are complete.
