The Secretary General (SG) of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Hon Nandala Mafabi is determined to stifle dissenting voices deemed loyal to the party’s founding father Col. Kizza Besigye, a man Mr Mafabi once worshipped, praised, shed blood for and mortgaged a property to his Presidential election.
But what went wrong?
The two are now sworn enemies to a point that Mafabi doesn’t want to hear a name Besigye anywhere in FDC.
This website a few months ago broke a story how Mafabi and his former godfather (Besigye) fell out when the latter rejected money whose source he questioned. Instead Mafabi advised the former bush war hero to “eat the money.”
The money, it is longer a secret in the FDC corridors came from State House after three party leaders begged President Museveni to fund the party during 2021 elections.

STORMY NEC MEETING
Last month, FDC administration announced it had embarked on countrywide election right from the grass-root to party president as a means of strengthening its structures.
However, the party introduced stringent terms to lock out pro-Besigye group, and subsequently the Mafabi- faction had thought of cancelling the election.
Mafabi led group comprises of himself, party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat, National Council Chairman Wasswa Birigwa, Jack Sabiiti and many others who are direct beneficiaries of Mafabi’s ‘fishing skills.’
The pro-Besigye group at Najjanankumbi is only composed of radical youth who still believe in Besigye as the only post- independence charismatic opposition leader.
On Monday last week, during a special National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting which sat to resolve on ‘to or not to’ have internal elections, Mafabi sensed danger and immediately hired and deployed muscular men inside the party offices and in the meeting.
“The mean looking men were more than 20 and they stood in one position for a whole day until the meeting was done,” said an official.
The aggressive youth who would attempt to speak on top of their voice would either be threatened by the look of the no-nonsense bouncers or would be reminded that they will be thrown out of the meeting like chicken thieves.
“Eventually Mafabi achieved his goal. There was no fight neither chaos as planned,” a source added.
The meeting agreed to continue with preparations to for internal grass-root elections which the Besigye-faction was pushing for.
“The agenda with those loyal to Besigye is to replace all leaders in FDC who deemed anti-Besigye with their own which Mafabi and group are fighting,” added a source.
Hon Mafabi couldn’t pick our calls when reached to explain the motive of hiring bouncers during NEC meeting.
