Two politicians from Eastern Uganda are engrossed in a cyber war over a yet to be identified woman.
In a scathing WhatsApp chat between Budiope West MP Ibrahim Kyoto Mululi and his longtime political nemesis John Bosco Mubiito, the former alleges that Mubiito slept with his lover before giving her poison to finish him off.
He then warned him, “I am still alive. Coming for you! Be ready.”
Mubiito didn’t take the threats lightly, he was prompted to open a Police case at Criminal Intelligence Department (CID) head offices at Kibuli in Kampala. The General Enquiry File is 170/2023.
Mubiito tabled the WhatsApp conversation between him and Hon Kyoto as evidence.
Kyoto defeated Mubiito in the previous election in a hotly contested race in which the latter alleges the election was rigged.
Before he lost, Mubiito served as the area Member of Parliament.
The woman at the centre of war remains unnamed, however, Kyoto sent her videos to Mubiito warning him that he had made a mistake to sleep with her.
“Da day you f**ked her is d day u lost yo whole self,” reads Kyoto’s text.
“Do you remember the samples you gave her to poison me?” Unfortunately, I am still alive. Coming for you! Be ready.” Kyoto sent the blazing messages on May 27.
Mubiito responded: “You have failed to serve the people. You have failed to do what people voted you for. You are actually a disgrace to our constituency. So carry your shame quietly. Don’t start unnecessary wars.”
Police has since launched investigations into the matter.
