A youthful Member of Parliament (MP) in her late 20s is yet to come to terms of a broken heart and losing millions to man she has been sharing the garden of Eden with.
The heartbroken politician from Eastern Uganda contested for the seat as a Woman MP after she left University.
Because of her popularity she was nicknamed after the district.
Sources at Parliament say, that after the excited lawmaker swore in, a known Kampala shrewd started playing his cards knowing she is eligible to get a bank loan amounting to shs 4 billion as an MP.
“He approached her all in the name of love. Because she was young and naïve she also fell for the trickstar,” said one her close friends.
For some time now, the Honourable Member has been on suicide watch but she is gradually accepting the double loss; falling for a ‘muyaye (conman) and losing hard cash.
Sources say, this businessman only identified as Moses has had a habit of dating rich women targeting their wealth.
He comes from Eastern Uganda and had attempted to contest for the LC5 in his home district but was beaten hands down.
So after identifying the female lawmaker, Moses kickstarted the project in high gear by proposing holidays.
“At first he would take the MP to Serena Hotel and they sleep there for whole week. At some point the MP had forgotten her house,” said a source.
After marathons of sleepless nights the legislator just needed to crossover from Serena to the August House in 2 minutes.
In plenary, she would be smiling and she had even gained confidence to speak on the floor. As science has it “good sex is therapeutic.”
As her man stayed in the Hotel she would assure him to tune in to the preferred network (UBC) to watch her deliberate on matters of national importance.
Knowing what he wants, Moses wouldn’t also disappoint he would tune in.
He took the “thing” to a next level when he flew the MP who had never even stepped into scrap plane at Aero Beach, to Dubai
She surrendered all her territories as Moses put all his tools to work.
As man on mission, money was the target.
While in Dubai, Moses revealed to his lover that she needed to meet two Ugandans who had a business proposal.
“All this was planned. And the lady fell into the trap,” a source said.
The ‘businessmen’ told the lawmaker that she would make a kill if she invested in oil in the Albertine region.
They said that since oil production is underway Total and CNOOC which have the contract will need subcontractors to manage some of the work.
“She bought the idea,” a source said.
They alerted her that she needed to have shs 1 billion to start the process of registering the company and also hiring lawyers.
She said she would first get half of the money.
When the couple returned to Uganda, the MP immediately requested for the loan from the bank but was first offered shs 300m.
The boyfriend advised her to accept the 300 million and look for 200 million from another bank.
When she handed over the money to Moses he vanished. It is at this point that she opened her eyes and remembered to carry out due diligence.
The stories on internet about a man she trusted sent her into coma.
She approached a certain powerful Minister and narrated her ordeal.
The Minister used his boys to hunt for the conman and he was arrested.
He revealed that he handed over money to the businessmen in Dubai and they blocked him.
Moses pledged to repay the money but asked for 5 years.
